Roy – Elder

I was born in Elkhorn WI, on our parent’s dairy farm. In January of 1970 I had a meeting with the pastor of Walworth Bible Church, and was led to trust Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. The pastor handed me an entrance booklet for the Awana Boys club and told me to memorize it for next week and meet with him. From that time on I have worked with kids in Awana Clubs. In the winter of 1971 I made a decision to quit my job in auto body and attend New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha. There the founder and co-founder of Awana were two of my instructors. After school I moved to central Wisconsin, married Betty and joined Calvary Bible Church in 1973, where we soon became youth leaders. I have served several terms as deacon and at least a couple terms as Elder.
In 1980 Betty and I joined the AWANA Advisory board for Wisconsin and MI UP. January of 1988 we applied to be missionaries with Awana full time and after training, were commissioned by Calvary Bible Church to be Awana Missionaries to Wisconsin. We retired from Awana in December 31, 2014.
I drive a school bus and do some hobby farming, as well as serve fire as Chief of the Arpin Volunteer Fire Department. Betty works for the Marshfield School District serving breakfast and lunch. As you can see by our jobs, we still love working with children, and hope to keep doing that as long as God enables us.
We have 3 daughters, Angela who married John Berger, Rachel who married Wil Russell, and Valerie, whom we adopted as an infant. She will be marrying Jim Gosh in July 2015. We enjoy spending time with our family when we can.
Our life verse is Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me and I will show you great and mighty things which you do
not know.”

Scott – Elder

I grew up in the midwest and graduated from the University of IL in Champaign-Urbana with a degree in Agronomy. I married Penny, my high school sweetheart, in 1982, and we moved to the Fort Myers FL area where we raised 2 daughters, Mallory and Abigail. I pursued a career in the vegetable industry. I’ve been involved in music most of my life, but following some serious soul searching and life changes in 2006, I committed to making worship my main focus. Penny and I have previously served churches in Florida and Illinois and were called to Calvary in the fall of 2012. I am currently serving as the Worship Pastor.

I’m married to the most wonderful woman in the world, Elizabeth (pictured with me <3). I’ve lived in Marshfield since 2010 and have been attending Calvary for the duration of that time. In my spare time, I enjoy disc golf, video games, and movies.

If you are searching for a church with friendly people, a traditional feel & contemporary worship music; Calvary Bible is worth checking out. That has been the experience for me & my wife. Our four young children have been involved in Wednesday evening AWANA, Sunday school, & Sunday morning Calvary Kids programs, with our youngest in the vibrant nursery. My life-long Christian faith has been something strong to lean on during difficulties & loss in my life, sharing the hope I have experienced is what I can offer to others. As a newer member of Calvary Bible Church in Marshfield I can assure you there are many other members here that are willing & able to share testimonies of hope, joy & love with you as well.  I am just an average “Joe” in most worldly aspects, but I serve the most powerful & awesome God ever, making me co-heir to His throne through Jesus Christ’s redeeming sacrifice.
